Walkthrough - Where the mother company sends one of their high-end salaried employees to walk around each store to determine what needs improvement and what is working well.
In preparation for such an exciting adventure our store management gets all nervous and makes every department scrub through with a fine comb to make sure everything is close to perfect.
I don't think it's working the way they planned. The initial purpose of such an event is to determine whether or not the store needs improvement or help. By creating an illusion that the skeleton crew of employees and budget cuts have not caused any detriment to the store's maintenance is damaging to the company.
Every year our suits walk through, observes what our store manager wants them to see, and it just pisses me off. I sometimes threaten to call all my friends and have them come to my store to mess up the store, while the suits are walking through. Each store within our state calls other store managers and asks for assistance to prep their stores for the visit.
Does that even make sense? What the hell is the purpose of the visit? The real reason for the visit is so suits can walk through, while store managers bend over backwards to brown nose.
Sing it sister!
