The best coupon is....

The best coupon is a coupon with no fine print.

Every coupon my store offers has exclusions. Even the coupon marketed as "no exclusions" has a couple exclusions, which really puts me in a bad spot with angry customers. Usually there is a huge paragraph that lists so many things not included that the company would be better served to list what is allowed.

I don't know how many people have walked around the store obviously reading the coupon in a group huddle with friends and family before walking up to me with an item that is obviously not covered.

"I'm sorry, but this coupon won't work on this item." and I proceed to show them the big box that pops up on my screen stating the same.

"Well that's stupid," they angrily state and look at me for some sort of plea bargain. Here's some advice: Read the coupon. How hard is that? Now I know it is unfair to some because they hate reading, but it does come in handy sometimes.

So next time you get a coupon with fine print either read it or throw it out.
