The Store is Closed
Why is it so hard for people to understand that an announcement over the intercom that states, "The store is now closed," does not mean continue shopping very quickly throughout the store?
I often run to the mall doors a cool fifteen-minutes before closing to "pre-close" the doors. Basically I begin closing the doors half-way to let people know their shopping adventure is close to ending. I also get a kick out of watching people run really fast towards what they think is a closing store. Of course I tell them that they have plenty of time before we close because I don't want to see anyone fall.
